Director of Instruction, Lead Master Instructor, Rick Smith Golf Academy at Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles
Owner, KingThomas Golf
Jordan King Thomas has 15 years of golf coaching experience and has been a Class A certified PGA professional for more than a decade. His coaching philosophy focuses on customized golf instruction and long-term athletic development to enhance game-time performance. Jordan and his team of instructors provide private coaching, tech-backed swing analysis, and clinics for individuals and corporates. Jordan focuses on high level game development and junior elite players, as well as helping people get business golf ready.
Jordan’s love for the game started at age seven in Chapel Hill, NC, when he began developing into a promising golfer. He was taught by his grandfather, “Grandpa King,” a lifelong member — like his father before him — of Medinah Country Club. At 22, Jordan got a job in the cart barn at Ko Olina Golf Club in Kapolei, HI. While there, he refined his skills by playing competitively in every high level tournament within the state. In 2008, Jordan assisted in the opening of the Ernie Els-designed Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach, HI, and worked his way up to become First Assistant and Lead Instructor.
Jordan moved on to be mentored by three of the greatest teachers in the game of golf: Jim McLean (Trump National Doral in Miami, FL), Henry Brunton (Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine, CA) and Rick Smith (Trump National Los Angeles). He also honed his understanding of club fitting through his experience as a Master Fitter and Master Builder with Club Champion.
Jordan is recognized nationally as a Golf Digest Best Young Teacher for 2021-2022 and 2023-2024. He was named TaylorMade’s National Fitter of the Year for 2023. Jordan is a Level 1 and 2 Certified Trackman Professional.
Currently, Jordan sits on the board of the Southern California Teaching Committee and the TaylorMade National Fitting Council. Jordan co-founded the Cornerstones of Coaching series for the Southern California PGA to give back to the industry by teaching young instructors how to improve their coaching and business skills.
“I believe that no two people are made alike, nor do they possess the same athletic background. I look to prioritize you as an individual, to better understand your unique goals and intrinsic capabilities.”

“I've been taking golf lessons with Jordan for approximately one year and my game has improved tremendously. Not only the long game, but the short game as well. I have never struck the ball as well as I do today. After several lessons with Jordan I can break 80 even on the toughest courses in California."

“Jordan has really helped me tighten up my game where it was needed most. He specifically worked with me on the mental aspect of golf as well. I’ve grown a lot as a golfer under his influence and I know I’m a much better player for it.”
Rachel LaMay, age 13

“As a golfer of more than 35 years, I have had more than a dozen pros give me countless lessons throughout the years. Jordan is truly the Gold Standard in golf coaches. My index went from 9.3 to 6.2 in the last two years, thanks to Jordan.”
